Circular Economy
The sugar industry is uniquely positioned to operate as a circular manufacturing ecosystem. At Daurala, we ensure that every stage of production maximizes resource utilization and minimizes waste. Sugarcane is processed into multiple value streams including sugar, ethanol, power, and bio-based products, ensuring optimal use of agricultural resources and raw materials.
Key circular economy practices at Daurala include:
● Bagasse utilization for cogeneration of renewable power
● Molasses conversion to ethanol, supporting India’s ethanol blending program
● Press mud reuse as bio-compost and soil nutrient for farmers
● Spent wash treatment and use for making green power
● Energy recovery through high-efficiency power co-generation
Through these initiatives, we transform by-products into valuable resources while reducing environmental impact.

Safety & Occupational Health
Safety for all personnel is a fundamental priority across our facilities. We are committed to maintaining a workplace where employees, contractors, and visitors operate in a safe and secure environment. Our safety management system focuses on prevention, training, and continuous improvement.
Key initiatives include:
● Comprehensive occupational health and safety policies
● Regular safety audits and risk assessments
● Mandatory training and certification programs for all personnel
● Robust Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) Protocols – e.g. Lock-out/Tag-out, Machine Guarding, Confined Space Protocols, Near-Miss Reporting etc.
● Use of advanced monitoring systems and personal protective equipment (PPE)
● Strict process safety management protocols for alcohol production. Integrated
fire-prevention and firefighting measures are applied across the facilities.

Water Stewardship & Conservation
Water is a critical resource in sugar processing and distillery operations. Recognizing the importance of responsible water management, we continuously invest in technologies that reduce water consumption and enhance recycling.
Our water conservation strategy includes:
● Condensate recovery systems in sugar plants
● Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems in distilleries
● Advanced effluent treatment plant
● Process water recycling and reuse
● Water-efficient cleaning and cooling systems
We also work closely with local farming communities to promote water-efficient
agricultural practices and sustainable irrigation methods.
